Support

We care about their future

We are equipped with the following therapies that has proven to bring comfort to the child.

Behavior modification is a method used to replace negative behavior patterns with desired behaviors or promote behavior change.

It focuses on changing specific behaviors with little consideration of a person’s thoughts or feelings. The progress and outcome of the intervention can be measured and evaluated.

Cognitive behavioral therapy, or CBT, is a common form of talk therapy. Unlike some other therapies, CBT is typically intended as a short-term treatment, taking anywhere from a few weeks to a few months to see results.

The key principle behind CBT is that your thought patterns affect your emotions, which, in turn, can affect your behaviors.

CBT highlights how negative thoughts can lead to negative feelings and actions. But, if you reframe your thoughts in a more positive way, it can lead to more positive feelings and helpful behaviors.

The main approach to CBT is:

  • identifying specific problems or issues in your daily life
  • becoming aware of unproductive thought patterns and how they can impact your life
  • identifying negative thinking and reshaping it in a way that changes how you feel
  • learning new behaviors and putting them into practice

We make the children learn Life skills though a combination of basic instructions, imitation, encouragement and through positive reinforcement.

A neurodiverse child may have a hard time learning their daily skills. Hence, we teach Life skills through routine, through task analysis, through detailed instructions and through demonstration.

Repetition of the daily living skill is the key for retaining the skill and lot of techniques are used to teach Life skills to the children.

the steps used in teaching ADL skills are as follows:

  1. Analysing the task
  2. Creating a visual guide
  3. Prompt and fade

Some of the techniques used in teaching Life skills will be training, social stories, video modeling and apps.

It helps the children to express their needs and wants. Neurodiverse children have difficulties in developing verbal communication, they find it difficult to understand or use spoken language. Some of the children are non-verbal.

We support neurodiverse children to learn and to practice skills for communicating with other people.

We use social stories, comic strips, visual support, PECS, sign language and gestures, new age devices and technology.

We help and encourage the children for positive social interaction. We help them to gain confidence , to create and maintain relationships.

We follow several strategies to help the child to improve his/her social skills. Some of them are:

  • Follow their hobbies
  • Use modeling
  • Use social stories
  • Use cue cards
  •

We provide lot of strategies to improve concentration, focus and sitting tolerance in the child. These are non-drugs strategies.

We also provide parents with training to help them to continue the strategies at home.

We try to make a differnce by helping the children to manage their sensitivity and cravings. We provide several types of sensory diet program that takes care of sensory challenges in the children.

Our sensory diet programs involves a daily menu plan which includes individualized, supportive sensory strategies (e.g., quiet space, aromatherapy, weighted blanket), physical activities, and tangible items (e.g., stress balls or other items for distraction)

We provide remedial intervention involving the use of sensory and motor activities and equipment (e.g., swinging, massage).

We also provide accommodations and adaptations wearing earplugs or headphones to diminish noise or using textured materials, etc.
